First & last photo
submitted by Aloke Kumar Bhanja (india)
everyman 2005 - from the attic
This is a rare photo which was taken in the year 1922, at Bankura near Calcutta, India. This photo comprises my mother (left), my grandfather (middle) and my maternal uncle (right). When my grandfather died my mother wanted to have a photo of her father and as he has never been photograph before in his life time, a photographer was hurriedly arranged on the cremation ground and the dead body was elevated in a sitting posture to take the photograph.
This is the first and last photograph of my grandfather.
